dc.description.abstractIn the face of a natural catastrophe, resistance is a necessary but not sufficient condition. A building can withstand an earthquake or a flood, but that does not mean that the life it held will go back to be developed in a normal way. Hence, based on the experience after the 2010 earthquake, this text advocates resilience as a key concept, a scope of which goes far beyond mere material resistance.
dc.description.abstractAnte una catástrofe natural, la resistencia es una condición necesaria pero no suficiente. Una construcción puede resistir un terremoto o un aluvión, pero eso no significa que la vida que albergaba vuelva a ocurrir de manera normal. De ahí que, en base a la experiencia tras el terremoto de 2010, este texto abogue por la resiliencia como un concepto clave, cuyo alcance va mucho más allá que la mera resistencia material.
