Facultad de QuímicaEn esta Tesis se sintetizaron 2 conjugados químicos basados un fotosensibilizador y quitosano de bajo peso molecular. El primero conjugado está basado en la unión química entre riboflavina a través de PMPI a quitosano tiolado. El segundo conjugado se trata de la unión de protoporfirina IX con quitosano a través EDC. Los conjugados tienen un efecto fungicida potenciado a través de la terapia fotodinámica antimicrobiana. Los conjugados fueron caracterizados a través de técnicas como RMN, FTIR, Absorción UV-visible, Fluorescencia entre otras. Finalmente, su efecto fungicida fue evaluado in vitro en Penicillium digitatum y comparado con sus componentes por separado en distintas condiciones. Los resultados indican que, para la conjugación de riboflavina y quitosano, se modifican las propiedades de fluorescencia y en un examen indirecto se determinó que el conjugado tiene mayor capacidad de generar oxigeno singlete. El conjugado posee mayor actividad fungicida que sus componentes, alcanzando un 100% de inhibición al 0,5% (m/v). En el caso del conjugado de protoporfirina IX y quitosano, esta no modifica las propiedades fotofísicas del fotosensibilizador, pero aumenta en la generación de oxígeno singlete. El conjugado posee mayor actividad fungicida que sus componentes y logra una inhibición del 100% del patógeno al 0,005% (m/v).
