Abstract
Revenue management has changed the scenario for most businesses as technological developments have allowed revenue management to expand into a vast forecasting. Intercity buses are not an exception. The literature have previously treated this industry as an extension of the airline industry, but non-overbooking practices, limited capacity, non-alliances and huge data volumes distinguish the short-run decisions of firms, with the goal of generating an accurate forecast through use of simple algorithms that manage the huge data volumes that intercity buses have at their disposal. In this model, firms maximize their total income using indirect discrimination, which is the main objective of the RM.
