Abstract
Nowadays, people's daily trips face several dificulties which came from the complexity of the cities, social constructions and the necessities originated by the groups where they belong. To overcome these problems, people display strategies which allow them to maximize their times; taking advantage of their personal capabilities and the opportunities offered by the spaces that they must cover. The present paper has the objective to portray people's daily mobility practices of a mixed used land space in the city of Santiago de Chile (Plaza de Mai-pú), considering the problems which came from social constructions and the family. To achieve the objective, the paper analyzes experiences from inhabitants of Plaza de Maipú's surroundings which shows how the same space can have different meanings and functions.
