This is the third paper of a series about the Integral Project Management (IPM) in the Chilean construction industry, even though many of the concepts included here are extrapolated to the reality of other countries and other productive sectors. In this article important aspects of the IPM application to the particular case of highway projects are presented. Thus, the necessity of deep analysis in this kind of projects is first reviewed, due to the high investments required. Also, the particularities of road projects and the role of PM in this kind of projects are presented. After that, the importance of road maintenance and the necessity of modeling are shown. Finally the applications of IPM are shown both in public and private projects.
